Form & intimacy: contemporary maternity.

Maternity portraits are some of my favorite sessions to shoot. Pregnancy is such a magical, fleeting chapter, and it’s one I’ve since gotten to know personally, too.

Brian and Lindsey reached out about a maternity session, and one of Lindsey’s first questions was the one I hear most: how far along should I be for the best photos? My answer is usually 29 to 31 weeks — your bump is round but not yet heavy, so you can still move comfortably into different poses.

Like every session, the goal was variety — a range of moods and looks that all still felt like her.
