Meet Andrew.

Andrew Knowles has photographed people in Dallas for more than fifteen years. He started in a high school darkroom, and the part of the work he cares about most hasn’t changed: the person in front of the camera, and the print that lasts.

He directs every sitting himself, from the first conversation about looks to the last frame. Expression, posture, where the light falls; none of it is left to the person in front of the camera. That is what makes the day feel unhurried, and it is why people come back.

He makes every print himself, on cotton rag, with inks rated to outlast the people in them. Andrew considers that part of the job, not an add-on. A portrait that lives only on a phone was never really finished.

He is Master Accredited by The Portrait Masters, has been named Best Photographer in Dallas more than once, and has shot for Vogue and Modern Luxury. Mostly, though, he makes portraits for families who want something on the wall that will still matter in forty years.
