Photo Shoot Skincare Timeline

As you prepare for your photo shoot in Dallas, there are ideal times to have certain things done, such as your hair and nail appointments. Follow the simple steps below to take the guesswork away and look incredible for your shoot.

One Month Before Your Photo Shoot

• Start working up a sweat. When you get your heart rate up and start sweating, you're increasing circulation to your skin and detoxing your body.
• Start stretching, especially your face, neck, back, and shoulders. This will tone and tighten, as well as make some of my poses more comfortable for you during the shoot.
• Start applying a quality lotion all over your body, paying extra attention to elbows, knees, and ankles.
• If you are going into "full-pamper" mode, schedule a massage to unwind a day or two before your photo shoot- you deserve it!
• Start being mindful about tan lines and avoid sunburn
• Start regularly applying quality lip balm. Flavored lip balms can lead to licking your lips, and Carmex can actually dry your lips. Try something natural like this, or something with Avocado oil, Jojoba, or shea. 

One Week Before Your Photo Shoot

• Stop using scrubs, peels, and retinol products that exfoliate the skin
• Get serious about sleep. Start getting 8 hours minimum, even if that means adjusting your schedule to help you wind down a little early.
• Get your eyebrows threaded (preferred to waxing)

3-4 Days Before Your Shoot

• Get your nails done (I suggest something more natural-looking)
• If you are considering a spray tan, please only use a professional (not a booth or self-application). Try and do it no sooner than 3 days before your shoot, and make sure it's only a very light kiss of color.
• Consider getting some Rhoto-V eye drops. They have magical powers to make your eyes whiter and brighter than you've ever seen. They do have a slight cooling sensation, so I suggest trying them before the day of the shoot. You will use these the morning of your shoot.

The Night Before Your Shoot

• Skip that glass of wine- drink your water instead!
• Wash and condition your hair, no need to use any products or style it.
• Put two spoons in the fridge.
• Get plenty of sleep! Maybe wind down with some Kava tea and even use a sleep mask and earplugs to ensure you sleep soundly!

The Day of Your Shoot

• Give your eyes some love. Start by using your Rhoto-V eye drops to remove any redness. Then take the spoons out of the fridge and gently rest them over your closed eyes- this will instantly tighten and wake up your skin, helping to eliminate bags and fine lines.
• Arrive with dry hair and a clean face. No need for any makeup or products except for lip balm.
• Sit back and let it all happen for you! My stylist will have everything you need to create your perfect look.
