Taylor contacted me to do her bridal portraits in Dallas at the beginning of summer, because she was actually going to Venice to get married a few months following. What a dreamy location to tie the knot!
She wanted her bridals to be classic and timeless, with an old-time Hollywood flair. We decided to shoot at The Mansion At Turtle Creek, which ended up being the perfect Dallas location. This hotel oozes luxury, and we were excited to find spiraling staircases, plenty of arches and columns, and a lot of other really awesome architectural features. All of that was just a stage for the true star, the beautiful Taylor. I don't think her dress could have been any more perfect for the style and look she was going for (Vera Wang).
Notice how flawless her makeup is, especially her eyes. Each lash is individually lengthened and filled, and the makeup is applied with an airbrush. These services are available for not only bridal sessions in Dallas, but also Senior Portraits, Engagement Photos, any photos where you want to look polished and perfect.
One of the hardest parts about taking bridals is having to wait to share the final results! We can't risk the groom seeing any of the photos before the wedding day, so these shots are actually several weeks old.
I was originally trained in the darkroom, exclusively with black and white. I oftentimes find myself shooting in color nowadays, but enjoy revisiting the classic black and white approach. I recommend anyone trying to improve their photography try and take some of your color images and convert them to black and white. This will help you quickly notice areas that could use improvement (exposure, shadows, etc.) that may not have been as obvious when viewing the image in color.
